Hosted by Mission Neighborhood Centers, Inc., a nonprofit organization that provides multi-cultural, multigenerational social services, the inaugural Annual Helen Fabela Chavez Legacy Celebration was held on Jan 21st in San Francisco, California. Sagemont Tax was proud to be a sponsor of this special event that included a legacy brunch and the establishment of the Helen Fabela Chavez Educational Scholarship and Award.
In attendance were Sagemont Tax’s Nick Lewandoski and Brian Soper, who celebrated Mrs. Chavez, who was mother to eight children and a key part of the successful farmworker’s movement. It is said that without her there would have been no movement to speak of.
